MY HERO CONOCO

75% of Conoco's fans are into anime. So we did what anyone would do with that info and built them an entire universe. We created Conoco-Kun and his best friend Carhead, wrote a six-part manga, dropped a 47-minute lo-fi driving mix, and showed up at Comic-Con with cosplayers bringing the characters to life. For a gas station brand, people were really into it.

We dropped an original manga, drawn by an actual anime artist, printed back to front the way they do in Japan, and gave it away to fans online. Right now, someone's got it listed on eBay for $19.99.

We took YouTube's most popular music genre, made it about gasoline, and dropped 47 minutes of original driving-inspired music.

Comic-Con

Once Carhead had a following, Comic-Con was the obvious next move. We showed up with real cosplayers dressed as the characters, ran an Imgur collab, and gave away chibi pins to anyone who stopped by. For a gas brand, we fit right in.Home
